5v5 Basketball Rules
Game Format

Format is 5v5 full court.
-
Teams may have up to 10 players on the roster.

Each team will play 8 games per session.
-
Each team will have 2 doubleheaders during the session - 7 games.

Weeks 1-5 will be regular season, with the session concluding in Week 6 with a seeded single-elimination playoff bracket.

Players are required to wear a numbered shirt or jersey.
-
Ball size is 7 (29.5").
-
Each team must provide its own basketball.
Scoring
-
Field goals inside the arc are worth 2 points.
-
Field goals beyond the arc are worth 3 points.
-
Free throws are worth 1 point.
-
Free throw attempts must be shot within 7 seconds of the shooter receiving the ball from the referee.

If time expires, the team with the higher score wins.
Game Length
-
Games consist of two 15-minute halves.
-
The clock will run continuously.
-
8 seconds get across half court and 25 second shot clock.
-
Each team receives 2 timeouts per half.
-
The clock will stop only for free throw attempts during the final minute of each half, unless stopped for an official timeout or administrative issue.

Halftime will be brief and managed by league staff.
Fouls

Fouls will be tracked.

Team fouls reset at halftime.

Each team is allowed 4 team fouls per half before the bonus begins.

On the 5th team foul of the half, the opposing team will be in the bonus.

Technical fouls will be assessed by the referees as needed for unsportsmanlike conduct or other violations.​​
Technical Fouls and Player Conduct

Zero tolerance for disrespectful, threatening, or overly physical behavior toward players, referees, or staff.

A player who receives a technical foul will be assessed the penalty enforced by league officials during the game.

A second technical foul on the same night will result in disqualification for the remainder of that night's games and suspension for the following week's games.

League staff reserve the right to remove any player or team for repeated misconduct or behavior detrimental to the event.
Substitutions

Substitutions are allowed during dead-ball situations and timeouts only.
Playoffs

Weeks 1-5 will make up the regular season, with Week 6 serving as a seeded single-elimination playoff bracket.

The number of qualifying teams is to be determined.
-
If not all teams qualify for the playoff bracket, non-qualifying teams will play a consolation game for their 8th game.
Additional Rules

League officials will have final authority on all rulings not specifically covered here.

Teams and players are expected to uphold the spirit of competition, sportsmanship, and respect for opponents, officials, and staff at all times.
